Club Supports Bowral Tulip Time Bike Ride

 

     Bowral Lions cooked sausages in the Lions Park in Bowral for the cyclists finishing the Tulip Time cycle ride from Sydney to Bowral via Wollongong and Robertson on Saturday 24 September. The Lions Park on the corner of Bowral Street and Moss Vale Road provided a picture post card setting for the cycle ride finish and the riders enjoyed the Lions sausage washed down with hot tea and coffee. Lions Peter Fleming welcomed the President of the Parkinsons NSW who finished the 160 kilometre ride in cold and wet conditions.

  • 2011 Christmas Raffle

    2011 Christmas Raffle

    Over 19000 tickets were sold in the 2011 Christmas Raffle. The prize, a boat, trailer, outboard motor and giant hamper, was won by Mittagong resident Jan Ripphausen. Jan has five adult children and 22 grand children who will share in the prize.
    Net profit from the raffle is approximately $12,000 and this will be distributed to various local and national causes within the next few months.
  • Mayfair Gala Day at Bong Bong Race Course

    Mayfair Gala Day at Bong Bong Race Course

    The Bowral Lions held a Mayfair Gala Day at Bong Bong Race Course, Bowral on Sunday 1st May 2011. Mayfair included the Bong Bong Mountain Bike Challenge on the mountain bike track within the course and various attractions for the family including a car "show and shine" display. Over 2000 people enjoyed the day and $20,000 has been raised for the Bridges for Learning Centre in Bowral.
  • 50th Anniversary Year for Lions Club of Bowral Inc.

    In 2011 the Lions Club of Bowral is celebrating its 50th year of support to the community. The Club charter was granted by Lions International on 19th june 1961. A giant Mayfair Family Fun Day held on 1st May was part of the celebrations raising over $20,000 for a local charity.
    A 50th Anniversary Dinner was held at Mittagong RSL Club on Saturday 18th June 2011.
